If you’re looking for Franklin’s best stories (and a few secrets), we have you covered. We’ll take you from our founding through the Civil War, and on to present day. This tour includes several stops where you’ll meet locals who share brief histories of their buildings. The tour ends at a local sweet shop for a special treat before we say goodbye.

This walk through the historic district takes you past the most haunted buildings in town. You’ll hear ghost and crime stories ranging from the merely mischievous to the downright dark. Sure to entertain history geeks, murderinos, and paranormal enthusiasts alike.

TOMBSTONE TALES

One Night Only!

You'll never forget the site of the costumed actors of all ages in our historic cemeteries, eerily illuminated by the glow of lanterns. As you approach each one, they'll tell you stories of those buried beneath. Enjoy this annual night of fashion, theatre, and Franklin's remarkable past.

Franklin's Fierce Females

Don't confuse Southern ladies with shrinking violets. Franklin has been home to scrappy settlers, heroines and spies of the Civil War, a rule-breaking socialite, and a trail-blazing suffragette. From a six year-old child who survived the eye of the Battle of Franklin to then become a famous artist to current Frankliner Lillian Stewart, our first (and only!) female mayor, these women's stories will amaze and inspire you.

Faith of Franklin

1 Hour

Trace the steps of Franklin's first church founders. Hear how the buildings were built and used during the Civil War. Some were occupied, others were used as field hospitals following the 1864 Battle of Franklin. 

See the treasures still in use as present-day Frankliners worship in these historic sanctuaries.
